Within Reach-Community Support
As the sister company to Within Reach-Center for Autism, Within Reach-Community Support was founded to provide support and guidance to families in their homes, school, and community settings. The goal of behavioral consulting is to work as a team with the child’s parents, caregivers, and teachers so that they have the tools necessary to continue to foster growth and success.
There is no waitlist for these services and no diagnosis is needed.
Consultation and social group sessions occur 1-3 times a week for one hour. All services are provided directly by a Licensed Behavior Analyst or a Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. All services are private pay and HSA/FSA accounts are accepted. We will travel to areas of Metairie and surrounding areas.
Bright Beginnings (1-3 years old)
We know many of our families are on lengthy waitlists, so the goal of this program is to provide a jumpstart on ABA services to create strong foundational skills that will be the building blocks for future more intensive ABA therapy settings. This early learner program focuses on interacting with children and families in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. They will provide strategies and support to nurture child development, strengthen bonds, and respond to the unique needs of each child.
Early Steps (0-3 years old)
This service is for children who qualify through an evaluation with Early Steps for behavioral services. Early Steps services are designed to improve the family’s capacity to enhance their child’s development.
School Consultation: (Ages 3+)
These services are typically provided in the group setting. After an observation in the classroom and parent and teacher interview, we create a plan to be utilized in the classroom. Ongoing support, training, and feedback is provided in the classroom until it is determined that services can be reduced or no longer needed. If specific skills need to be addressed in a 1:1 setting, these skills can be targeted in pull-out sessions as well.
In-home/Community Consultation (Parent Training): (Ages 3+)
This is focused training to address parent concerns in the home/community setting and can include things such as creating behavior plans for maladaptive behaviors, setting up daily routines, toileting, increasing communication, strategies for teaching skills, safety skills, etc.
RUBI Parent Training (Telehealth) – 12 week session: (All ages)
(Requires minimum of 4 caregivers per group)
Our RUBI Parent Training workshop is a 12 week structured parent training program. Each session covers a specific ABA topic and includes activities and discussions on how to apply the strategies at home. There is time built in for group discussions and to ask questions related to the topics.
Social Skills Groups- 6 week session
The Social Skills Groups are a 6 week group program that focuses on social skills with peers. The children are grouped based on age and their current skills so they can work together on social programs such as parallel play, engaging with peers, sharing, turn taking, cooperative play, peer requests, tolerating waiting, etc. For children who are not current clients of Within Reach-Community Support, a 30 minute 1:1 session is required for us to get to know the child and place them in the appropriate group.
Parent Child Play Group- 6 week session: (Ages 1-3)
Our Play group is a 6 week group program that focuses on parent child interactions and learning strategies for teaching developmental skills in a fun and engaging way. The group is led by a BCBA and there are fun activities incorporated throughout the session so the strategies can be applied. This is also a great way to start building social skills in a small group environment.
